I hope no one expected my full recovery time to be spent sitting on the couch with ice..I can only do that for so long! So I went out skating today. Not only do I feel it keeps me in good shape, it doesn't stress my ankle too much, and it most importantly keeps me happy. Just being able to slide on snow with my skis and boots on puts a smile on my face.
I of course just can't go out for a leisurely skate either. I did a really fun tempo workout today - relaxingly skating then exploding into a full out skate sprint for 1 - 200m then falling back into a slower recovery skate. Up hills, flats and downhills, this was a great workout. My body was completely exhausted by the end of the afternoon. The nice thing is that it's relatively easy on my ankle too.
Also just want to throw out a congrats to German tele racer, Tobi, who I know through a good friend. Tobi won the World Cup race today in Slovenia. Also to my US friends Cory and Zoe who had some impressive results. I'm really hoping I can get to the World Cup in Colorado to race with these fantastic tele skiers!
